Hello all-
I just received and installed my Prestige Autowood dash, and thought Id
report back to the group on it...
Overall, I was BLOWN AWAY by how good the dash looks- I got african
rosewood, which came out looking really spectacular- richly coloroed, deeply
fivgured, just sprectacular. Additionally, the quality of the woodwork is
superb- great finishing, detailing, etc etc...
Downsides-
-Quite expensive- I paid $400 for my dash
-VERY slow- he gave like a 3 month lead time, but then missed it by almost a
month
-Fit is not perfect- This may be too much to ask, but some holes (ashtray,
rheostat) were the wrong sizes for their items- all corrected by sanding
invisibly, but still imperfect.
-Installation is a witch (though I think this would be true with any dash)-
reinstalled gauges, etc..very hard to get some stuff in properly, hard to
get the glove compartment to sit exactly right. Took me 1.5 days of work.
(but Im slow)
Overall though, I would do it again in a second. Aesthetics are non
original (for you concourse guys) but breathtaking...
