Ronnie, if you switched the polarity then the ammeter will read opposite as
it did before. If it used to indicate -Amps with the lights on it will now
read +Amps. For this reason some folks recommend that you reverse the
ammeter connections when making the conversion. It is strictly optional as
it won't effect how the electrical system works and if you are comfortable
with the readings being reversed, good, for you. Shows that you are
adaptable.
