Yes, I have "been there and done that." I purchased a replacement control
head from the Roadster Factory and had real problem trying to remove the old
harness from the stator tube. Like yours, my wires would not budge, tried
everything I could to pull the wires out, heat, weights, etc, etc. Finally
heard through the list I believe, that Realey Healey had stainless steel
stator tubes (both types) for the TR3. I found them to be at a reasonable
cost. I did have some initial problems with freight, but they responded well
and I was extremely satisfied.

For the money, the new one was a lot easier than screwing around with the
original, and I have always placed a premium on being original on my car!
As always NFI and YMMV.
