I've always interpreted that to mean you need to get the clear coat(s) on
there every 5 to 10 minutes and NOT to wait longer.   Not being a paint
expert I assumed it had something to do with the solvent used in the clear
coat and they were trying to bond the coats of clearcoat while there was
still solvent evaporating or it was a tackiness thing or maybe something
else.....but I put 3 coats of clearcoat (every 5-10 minutes) and it worked
for me.
