I imagine that most of you drive vast distances in the USA, Africa, Australia
etc. and possibly consider a mere 360 mile round trip a trifle.
I'm attending the Triumph Mayflower, Pre 1940 Triumphs and Triumph Razoredge
Joint National Rally this weekend in Buckinghamshire, UK and expect to 'clock'
this mileage in my Mayflower. This may be the longest I've ventured in 'Jack'
and I'm hoping that after the major de-coke and top end rebuild (distributor,
carb, head gasket etc. - nothing too serious) undertaken last month all holds
together.
I drove 300 miles a couple of years back and enjoyed trundling along at 50 mph
with my three speed box driven by a pre war design side valve 10hp (38bhp)
engine. Not so bad as it seems on the quiet 'B' and 'A' roads rolling over the
English countryside.
What mileages are other Mayflowers covering?
Who has travelled the greatest distance in one go and in what Triumph?
