I couldnt disagree with Kai more.

First off, lets assume he's right about age of Triumph owners- assuming a
lot of pre-retirees, all of whom are going to double their Triumph ownership
when they retire. (which assumes, falsely, that a) us listers are typical
and b) that most listers are "collectors" rather than "drivers") What
happens 20 years after that? People (sadly) dont live forever after
retiring...A lot of estate sales of 4 Triumph lots, but to who? At that
point, no one will be alive (60 years after their commercial release) who
remembers when these cars were new. If not for the next generation, 1%
of these cars will enter museums, and 99% of them will never be freshened
up, and then will never be restored, and then and will die horrible deaths
ignored in grand-nephews garages, as "that funny little car grandpa had"...

I think Kai's comments are even more off hte mark when you consider that
Triumphs were working guys/kids cars when they came out. These are not
DB7s, Jags, and Ferraris, guys. These were the equivalent of the mustang
5.0 back then. Hell, my father got his as a college graduation present.
Far from "Tainting the ranks", 20 year olds in Triumphs and MGs is a return
to the roots for these cars.

I propose instead of a reduced price in admission to shows, concourse cars
iwth under 30 year old drivers should get added points for "Driver who is
the age of the original purchaser."

Noah (25 years old), proudly keeping up a TR4 (a car 1 year younger than his
dad's first TR4)
