> I have two Lucas coils, and would like to confirm which is the
early 12V coil, and which is the later ballasted coil. One has the
stamping 11P12 on the bottom, and I assume this is the 12V coil.
The other is marked 15P6, and I assume this is the 6V unit. Can
anyone confirm that, or is there a way I can test them with my VOM?

The 12v coil will measure about 3.5 ohms and the 6v coil will measure
closer to 1.5 to 2 ohms.
