Friends,
A good lady friend of mine: Kathryn, and her daughter Molly, are, in
approximately two weeks time, moving across country from Medford, OR to near
Kansas City, MO.
A total distance of just over 2,100 miles.
Most of her belongings are going into storage in Medford,OR, but she will
initially be driving her 1986 Ford Econoline camper van with her little Chevy
Sprint (Suzuki sub-compact) on a dolly at the back.
Inside the van she will be taking the more immediate of their belongings.
AFAIK, the only problem with the Ford (a 4.9 litre straight-six I think), is
that it slowly but surely leaks auto transmission fluid, probably from a
dried-out seal)
There won't be time (or money) to correct that now, but she is taking plenty
of spare fluid, and I am advising her to try a propietary 'stop-leak' fluid.
She tells me that her route will be as follows:
Medford, OR > Redding > Reno > Salt Lake City > Green River > Grand
Junction,CO >Denver > Oakley > Salina > Kansas City.
This email is simply to ask the good people of the various Triumphs lists
along that route to 'volunteer' help/aid/advice in case of any real emergency
she might encounter along the way.
She is 'Triumph aware' and an ex-race driver of Corvette, Mustang, and TVR
Vixen.
(I am working on her regarding driving Triumphs!)
Hopefully, she will not become a damsel in distress, but just in case?
I await your response(s) with interest.
All the Best
