Ted is a Racer sourcing parts for race cars. Moss is sourcing the
cheapest thing that will work to undercut the prices of the other "big
three"
I had to buy a whole bunch of hydraulic right angles to get a hose past
the TR3 front engine mount from Moss's adaptor. I ended up breaking one
of the soft steel custom fixing pieces for the Moss adaptor and had to
get a new set machined up. I had ones machined out of much harder steel
with a sharp shoulder for firm contact with the engine block.
Between replacing the soft steel fixings and buying lots of fixings to
get around the TR3 front mounts I think I about doubled the Price for
the Moss system. I understand that you do not need all those adaptors
for a TR4 front engine mounting plate.
Ted's products may cost a bit more sometimes but they are selected for
survival on race cars.
Our penny pinching when selecting parts has forced "The big three" to
focus on price and not fitness for use.
We, in the British car hobby, get mostly poorish quality parts because
that's all we are willing to pay for. Luckily people who race their cars
are more concerned about completing the race than the absolutely rock
bottom price.
So for drive train or suspension parts I recommend companies that supply
parts for the TR racers. That is if you are going to put real miles on
your TR.
