Fred,
I have had good luck with Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket, Part No. 3H.
But heck, you know much more about that stuff than I do. As far as the
gasket goes, I replaced mine with a heavy cardboard type, and it still leaks
a little. I'd go with the cork, and soak it first like you do with the carb
gaskets. If I do mine again, that's what I would do.

Subject: oil pan gasket
Listers, today I received 2 oil pan gaskets for my "3", one is made of =
cork = one is of the heavier cardboard material, my question is, which would
give the better sealing against leaks and which type gasket cement would
also be best to use, I have had a bad problem with leaks on the oil pan at
the very rear, so as you already know I am changing pans trying to correct
this problem. Thanks for your help and advice. "FT"
