Yes, the TR2/3/3A/3B are all wired so the key must be on (and the fuse
intact) for the brake lights to work.  A green wire goes from the side
terminal on the fuse block (hot only when the key is on) to the brake light
switch mounted on the right front frame rail (below the carbs).  A green
w/purple wire runs from the switch to the lamps (or lamp before TS18914) in
the rear.  The lamp sockets were apparently originally grounded through the
mounting screws, but I suggest adding a separate ground wire.
