I really think the culprit is the oil level or the viscosity.  If it will 
function at cold temps then it works.  If it stops at 50 degrees... what has 
changed.  After the "listen for the solenoid test"... The oil type and amount 
are the best, easiest and cheapest solution.

There is a heavy amount of varied opinion on what to put in your OD.  I just 
finished the OD rebuild and filled it with Valvoline 50W single viscosity 
"racing" oil.
