Fred, when I installed my 4A transmission, I simply removed shift lever
bolt and replaced the lever, leaving the shift tower in place. I tried to
replace the whole assembly, but the fingers on the shift tower did not line
up. I know a lot of people say that you can simply replace the shift
linkage top plate, but I couldn't get it to align properly. You'll love
the full synchro!
Regards,
Richard
