I recently received a very nice TR6 steering wheel from Tom DiIulio's '76
TR6. It had the common surface rust spots on the spokes, which I have taken
care of. (I had always thought these spokes were aluminum - but the magnet
test says differently.) Well, I now want to refinish the spokes, and like
the shiny metal look, but it seems that original was an anodizing that
looked very much like aluminum - thus my confusion?

Well, again, I like to refinish the spokes, and am looking for the best
method (other than powder coating - I don't want to harm the covered rim
with heat.) Does anyone know of a "proper" paint color to use? I'd love to
shine up the metal and clear coat it, but I have not found an aerosol clear
that doesn't require primer - kind of defeats the purpose for this need.

Thanks,
Eric
