Subject: Mig Welder Recommendations
I'm planning to buy a Mig welder in the near future and I'm looking for some
advice. The welder will primarly be used for sheet metal work (i.e. rockers
and floors for my TR4). I would like to stick with a 110 volt unit unless
there is a good reason to go to a 220 volt one. The models I'm considering
are the Lincoln SP125 Plus, the Miller XP130, anf the Hobart Hander 135. All
the models have different features. The Lincoln has continously variable
voltage and can operate down to 25 amps (Miller and Hobart stop at 30 amps).
The Miller has a better wire feed set-up and better protective fuses. The
Hobart is about $100 cheaper than the Lincoln and the Miller. Any advice will
be appreciated.
Thanks
David Flynn
