Justin,
My problem, too. I was looking right smack at the top support of the
regular windshield, so I found a guy who built me a really classy foam and
vinyl seat bottom, with piping even, for only $110. Now I sit about 3"
lower and am much happier. I have no memory of this problem from the car's
first incarnation in 1965: maybe I grew?
Also from that era, once I was driving from PA to Chicago. At Toledo, I
forgot to clamp the hood after putting in oil. At about 10MPH, flip, the
hood came up, took out the windshield, broke the hinges, bonked me on the
head and hit the ground behind the car. So I tied the hood back in place,
stuck the windshield in the passenger seat, put on my sunglasses and
motored on. I was even drafting behind 10 wheelers (the risk of a thrown
stone didn't occur to me until well after the event.) Ah, the joys of youth.
