FWIW, I approached a local custom auto upholstery shop a few months back
to discuss a tonneau cover for my TR3A. They said there was no way they
could even come close to the price of a kit, even for something as
simple as a tonneau.
However, they were perfectly willing to install a kit (for $50/hour),
and actually recommended that I buy it myself, as their suppliers would
probably charge more of a markup than mine.
