Same theme on PBS, called Robot Wars (www.robotwar.com). As usually, the
English do it better.
Actually, it has become a regular feature on Saturday nights with my 12 year
old. We have been talking about trying to build one. Anyone interested in
offering long distance design help? :)

Subject: Battlebots... non LBC but fun!!
OK......... yesterday it was the "Junkyard Wars" marathon on
TLC................ today it's "Battlebots" on the Comedy Channel. This show
has to appeal the gearheads too. Picture remote control bots on wheels or
tracks weighing from 80 to about 400 pounds, equipped with spinning saw
blades, ice picks, steel probes, swinging hammers etc ......... all in an
enclosed arena. One of these bots was so powerful they showed it pulling 3
cars! The object is to incapacitate your opponents bot in 3 minutes.
