Gary,

If you have to drill out the screws, try drilling off the head and then a hole
about 1/8 " as close to center as you can. Since these are 1/4 28 screws, you
might be able to use an "EASY OUT" to extract the screw leaving the threads in
the nut intack.

If that fails and you still cannot remove the screw, I believe that the nuts are
of the jacketed type and you may remove the jacket and the screw and frozen nut
will just come out. Replacing the nuts and jackets just takes a spot weld or
braze. I believe all the big three sell the nut/jackets. This will be easy once
you remove the fenders.
