installed new axel shaft assembles, purchased from british sports car
restorations (moss distr,) $135.00 each
seems to be a better design than original. Sliding assembly is enclosed and
has a grease fitting. (no more having to take axels off to regrease)
Jacked car up, took wheel off, used 9/16 box wrench & 9/16 deep socket, &
several extentions to release axel .(beats crawling under car as has been
described or detaching exhaust pipe as manuel describes)
i used large c-clamp & vise; plus a 1 1/4" socket and small socket to press
out u-joints.
that about finishes rear end, now have
tube shock conversion; poly differential mounts :BPNW
frame reenforcing kit :classic auto (local lbc repair shop)
new springs front & rear (streighten rear wheels)
rebuilt hubs; TRF
axel shafts: moss(BSCR)
used prothane bushings in the front end.(BSCR)
ignitor electronic ignition
& smaller check book
feels good though
