Hi. Me again.

My TR6 is now up 18 inches. Five 6"x6"x12" wooden blocks at each corner,
but after reading some of your warnings and very sad tales of friends who
have died while underneath cars, I'm going to get jack stands as well. I
live alone with my dog, far away from any source of human help (and I very
much doubt my dog would perform any sort of heroic Lassie -act). Therefore,
no getting under the car until I'm sure it ain't goin' anywhere.

I've consulted my factory manual and am under the impression that even a
biologist can indeed change the main and conrod bearings. The thrust
washers I'm not so sure about. The manual shows a picture of some guage
that looks to me like a cross between a stop watch and erecto-set.

But first things first. 1. Ensure car is safely up. 2.Replace main and
conrod bearings (oh! and the oil pump which is how this all started!). 3.
Figure out the hows and whys of thrust washers.

Thank you all very, very much for your respective inputs. They are most
sincerely appreciated. The only other thing I might ask at this time is
whether any of you mind lending me your LBC so I can practice on it.

Guess not, huh?

Frank
