Hi Listers
It's been about a year now since I enrolled to this list, each day I can't
wait until I get home to be able to log into this wonderful resources we
have before us. I have owned my tr3a for about 17 years, I live in middle
Georgia and here we just don't have many LBC's or have a network of owners
to share parts , knowledge or comrade with. No matter how excited I become
about something related to my LBC my wonderful spouse just does not share in
my enthusiasm. I'm sure many of you can relate. I have learned more from
these daily posts in ONE year than all 17 years combined. At my current
rate I will probably be needing a new hard drive in this CPU, devoted only
to my saved post.
Now the reason for this post. I would like to take this opportunity to
publicly thank Fred Thomas And Randall Young, for all the assistance I have
received from them these past few weeks. Fred thank you for being there on
those late nights when I would call you at home, for I would have exhausted
all my knowledge and resources to what ever problem I was faced with.
On two separate occasions I have received a postal package from Fred
enclosed would be something which would aid in solving a current problem.
In both instance's I had no prior knowledge that a parcel was forth coming.
Randall thanks for sharing your incredible mechanical knowledge, and for all
the information you have sent me regarding the timing and carburetion
problems I has having earlier this week. I look forward to reading your
responses to what ever LBC problem is posted. One thing I have learned from
the two of them is that a Throttle butterfly in an SU carb has a front and
back and that it is beveled. If you install them in backwards you can't
adjust idle. My brother is entrenched in the PORSCHE world and has
mentioned to me how envious he is because our community is so much more
willing. Willing to help each other with parts, knowledge, muscle and in
some cases even lodging. I'm looking foward to putting some faces to these
names some day.
Man is this a great tool or what. Who would have ever believed the best tool
for problem solving a LBC would me a mouse!!
Thanks again
Sincerely
Ronnie Babbitt
