If you are keeping the soft top on the car over the winter, I would definitely
recommend keeping the top up and not stowed. This is a bit better for the
backlite.
As for how I stow my Spit hardtop: Hardtop occupies the unused space above the
garage door opening. I bolted a piece of 2x4 to the wall of my garage (oriented
so that the narrow edge of the board touches the wall. On the other edge of the
board I nailed a scrap of 1x4 to provide a ledge for the 2x4 "shelf". I placed
the back portion of the hardtop on this shelf. I suspended the front portion of
the Hardtop using a tie down strap (1500lb capacity, $8 at K-mart). No fancy
lift but dirt cheap.

Subject: Soft Top / Hard Top Questions
Hi everyone,
I need help regarding the soft and hard top for our
TR6:
1. with the fall season quickly approaching and then
winter, should we keep the soft top up on the car
during the winter months when it is in storage (ie.
garage) or folded down?
2. and as for the hard top, how do you store it when
it is not in use? have you built some type of storage
rack or something else to protect it?
thanks,
Jon
