Hi Listers,
I am working on an electric fan conversion idea for my TR4A. It will be
thermostaticlly controlled by a switch mounted either in the base of the rad
or in the metal pipe feeding the bottom hose (haven't decided which would be
best. Any suggestions?).
I will be using a push through fan from a Rover Montego, (British scrap
yards are full of them). It is amazing how few cars have a push through fan
system mounted on the grille side of the radiator.
I have the radiator out of the TR4A (in fact everything is out of the car)
but I do not have the replacement card shroud/air deflector as yet.
Could someone give me the measurement on how far up the radiator the shroud
fits?
and I believe it is full width? Using this measurement I can determine
clearances etc for mounting the fan housing directly to the rad within the
shroud/air deflector.
The Rover Montego also has provided a very cheap electronic ignition system
suitable for the TR. No good for shows but far better for normal use. But
thats another story.
Thanks in advance
