A number of people have asked about my using Jaguar valve shims on my TR7,
thinking that Jag shims have a bigger diameter, so how could they work? The
Series 3 Jag shims are indeed bigger in diameter, but the 140 series shims
appear to be an exact match.
Just don't make the mistake I did when buying two .085 shims. I checked one
with my micrometer, didn't check the other, drove 30 miles to home, and
discovered the second shim was a .090. They do get mixed up in the parts
boxes, so I should have known to check both....
