Here are the current p/n numbers for the Bosch alternator for a 1980 Ford
Fiesta. This is a bolt in swap! Double your amperage without much effort.
You may want to get an inch or two longer fan belt, but I cheated by hooking
the belt around everything, then bolting the alternator in place. I'm just
to cheap to toss a perfectly good part!

BTW, I was initially less than pleased with the swap, the volts would drop
down to 12 with the headlights on, same as the Lucas Lump.
Some detective work reveled a loose battery ground and no engine to body
ground strap. Fixing these items yielded 14 volts at idle with the high
beams on. Big improvement!
