BTPT (Been there - paid that). That's the big drawback about not being able
to buy parts off the shelf with our cars - half the battle is getting them
to our doors. Recently, I placed an order with Moss, using some gift
certificates I had. I arranged to have them delivered to my hotel in Cape
Cod rather than face them crossing the border to Ontario, thus bypassing all
the customs, brokerage & other nonsensical charges that could possibly get
tacked on. Some time ago, I made an order with TRF, and as Steven mentioned,
it came in 3 separate boxes at different times (each with the $5 charge per
box Jim mentioned :-( ). I've since learned to specify 'no backorders' - if
it ain't in right away, I don't want it! Comes with the territory, I
suppose. Maybe we should take a lesson from the Cubans as to how they keep
all their 50s American cars running without factory parts all these years
later. A thought comes to mind of a Cuban Concours D'Elegance - the winner
would have a score of something like 150 of 400 possible points!!
(also explains why I'm such a fan of parts cars!!! :-) )
