Spongy means air in the curcuit/tiny bubbles in the fluid. The big
problem with Silicon seems to be that it holds very small bubbles in
suspension for a long time.
This is why it is generally best to vacume bleed silicone brake fluid.
Pedal pumping tends to create bubbles.
