Andy Mace (Hi to you too, Andy!) pointed out that my recollection of the
Autocross rules was a bit more liberal than the actual wording.
The VTR autocross rules say the following about 'stock' cars:
5.1.6. Swaybars (anti-roll bars) Front anti-roll bars may be deleted, added
or substituted. Any bushing material is permitted.
The VTR autocross rules say the following about 'modified' cars:
5.2.5. Swaybars (anti-roll bars) Sway bars may be added, deleted, or
substituted. Any bushing and method of attachment is allowed.
Note that rule 5.1.6 makes no mention of REAR anti-roll bars. The
way it was explained to me many years ago (probably by another
VTR Autocrosser with a rear anti-roll bar) was that if the rules allowed
you to beef up your front anti-roll bar, it was then a matter of safety to
also add a rear anti-roll bar.
OK, so if I've been mis-classed all these years, to whom should I
mail all these trophies? ; - )
