Hello Listers,
Any advice / information on air supplied respirator systems for painting
would be greatly appreciated.
It seems that essentially all current (worthwhile) paint systems use primers
and paints that contain isocyanates. According to manufacturers' safety
information, supplied air systems should be used, not cartridge type masks.
The local paint store said that professional painters often just use the
organic cartridge masks!
So just how hazardous are these kind of paints? What is a safe distance at
which to keep bystanders?
These units have not been easy to find and are expensive. One place
here(Seattle), quoted $1000. Eastwood has units for about half that amount.
Ideas Please!
