HS6 SU carburetors

I have a Dolomite Sprint with HS6 SU carburetors which, I think, are the 
emission control type. I was planning to modify them for the club race car 
(I cannot afford Webers and I want to sort suspension and brakes out first). 
Has anyone any tips, Internet resources, etc that you can refer me to for 
such mods?
