List,
Took a vacation day yesterday.....I'm finally starting to get to the details
of my TR6's restoration and noticed, while cleaning assorted parts, that the
steel clips that are used along the chassis rail to secure the brake and fuel
lines together (not the clips that fasten the lines to the chassis) are
painted green....looks like triumph racing green or early british racing
green.
I found a very close match with a Rustoleum green and sprayed them. Now, I'm
wondering (not to appear too anal about these things).....if these clips were
original, maybe I should have left them grungy and original versus repainted
with "non LBC" Rustoleum.....any thoughts?
While the paint was drying on other pieces, I even took out the gauges on the
Spit and cleaned the 30 year film of grime on the inside of the
lenses.....wow - the gauges look brand new....I snuck back into the garage
after dark to see them with the lights on....unbelievable - they're so clear
I can even see the hash marks at night - was always sort of a guess through
the haze!
Having way too much fun.......
