One more ( maybe stupid ) question : What is meant by sliding spline rear
case and is it going to pose future problems for me when mounted to my
normal 1964 Spitfire 4 gearbox / tranny ?

Ovcerdrive numbers are deciphered as follows

25 = % overdrive

63314 = Laycock D type as fitted to Sunbeam Alpine S3, Singer Gazelle.
Similar to Spitfire but with sliding spline rear case

051315= unit serial number, ie the production sequence
