Ian and Rob:

Slop in the distributor will definitely cause a TR6 to miss under load, and is 
more
apparent once the car is warm.

Installing some kind of electronic ignition will eliminate or radically reduce 
the
problem.  (Better still, rebuild the dizzy, and then add electronic ...)
