I installed one in my 67 El Camino...............it Ran great for about 500 
miles. When I installed it I  left the wires to long inside the distributor 
cap, the rotor rubbed the insulation off of one of them causing it to short 
out every now and then ..........
 you might check yours to see if the insulation is ok
