Currently my TR6 engine will not idle, and runs fairly rough when I depress
the
accelerator. Also, the oil pressure looks about 1/2 of what it normally is.
This
happened very suddenly, soon after I added the excess oil.
This may be due to too much oil? And any other ideas would be greatly
appreciated!
Thank you!

Steve,
Overfilling the oil sump will cause the crankshaft to slap the oil whipping
it into a froth (oil/air mixture). The oil system is designed to pump oil,
not oil/air. Pumping and oil air mixture will not give as good an oil
pressure, so yes, your reduced oil pressure can be caused by too much oil.
Additionally the increase in oil in the purge gasses in the PCV system can
cause the car to not idle properly but this is more speculative. I have no
experience with this. My cars typically run low on oil.
Drain out a couple of quarts and see what happens.
