All, I replaced needles and jets on the 3's carbs earlier this year and, just for drill, used the Moss (teflon, rubber, whatever) replacement jet seals rather than the original cork. What a difference! No leaks whatsoever and another benefit: the choke operates much more smoothly (very easy to pull) and the jets return fully to the stops when the choke is pushed "off". The return springs are now strong enough to return the jets to their home position. Nice to have dry carbs above the hot manifolds! IMHO they should be the standard for all SU's of this type.
