Believe it or not I worked on these monsters when new and at least the ones I 
saw, '55 thru '60  had a dull, metallic green can and a natural metal head 
(no paint). the heater control handle was what I would call a Kelly green. 
The valve body was brass but not polished like the ones you see now in 
concours.
