Starter Trouble

I just want to thank everyone for their input, especially Andy and
Graham who always answer within minutes of me posting a question. It
seems that the trouble may be just 27 year old connections. Last night I
removed and cleaned all possible connections reconnected without
actually installing the starter just to test - cranked well with high
speed. I will install tonight and see how it goes, keep you posted.
