I get roughly 500 messages a day between work and play, so this is a
subject I had to work out! I have separate inboxes for each mailing list
that I subscribe to, four in all (Volvo, Peugeot, both Triumph). I use
Eudora Pro which has wonderful filtering capabilities. Actually I have
about 20 inboxes in all - wouldn't want to lose a message from the Boss!
Every couple months I export all the messages in each car-related inbox to
a text file, and "zip" it up with winzip. Takes very little space and I can
go back and search if need be. Has saved my bacon when I needed a quick
answer a couple times.
One other helpful hint - wire your garage for internet access and keep an
old computer out there. Very helpful to not have to clean up to go in and
look something up! Is a great home for my half dead 166 laptop.
