Yes, exactly.

The starter solenoid connection helps make for easier starts under adverse
conditions (cold weather, tired plugs, etc.).  If you don't try to start the
car when it's below freezing, you'll probably never notice the difference.

BTW : The Moss catalog implies that the Crane PS40 coil is somehow better
than the PS20 coil, but the Crane web site says "Chrome apperance[sic]
version of PS20.  Electrical characteristics and applications same as PS20."
