I agree with Peter, in that you've got a master
cylinder piston that is pushed too far into the
cylinder, and the return hole is covered up. There is
probably a minor difference in length between the old
piston and the one in your new master cylinder. 4
months ago when you replaced the master cyl. it was
cooler outside and the brake fluid didn't expand as
much as it does now in warmer temps (ask me how I know
this!). This is why the problem is just showing up
now. Adjust the rod between the pedal and master
cylinder, or the pedal stops (not sure how it's done
on a modern car w/o side curtains)to get some free
play and let the piston come all of the way back.
Check your workshop manual fora clearance spec on
this.
