The center dash plate as you call it comes out with very little effort.  It
is held in by four wing nuts (roughly at the four corners).  You will need
to disconnect the switches and gauges as well as choke cable and panel light
connections.  If you don't want to hassle with that until you have the wood
one made, then contact me off list and we can figure out about a template.

dash plate come off to make a template from???
