Hello Again List,
As far as the alternator conversion goes, it really is pretty simple. The
problem that we had was this..
There is a plug with two wires that inserts into the case of the GM
Alternator. The plug that we used had a small white wire that is spliced
into the brown/yellow wire. The plug also has a larger red wire that
attaches to the screw terminal on the rear of the alternator.
Upon start up of the vehicle the red dash indicator light illuminates for a
few seconds and then goes out.
The problem that we had was this.. The plug with the white and red wire on it
that attaches to the alternator has two terminals with a wire spliced onto
each terminal. One of the splices did not have the insulation of the wire
stripped back far enough for the wire to contact the terminal at the
alternator.. These plugs came from the parts store,,so check 'em if you have
problems too.. I guess it always a good idea to test for continuity on
electrical items..
