Hi, You asked about the little screws on the timing cover... Just a guess, but there's 5 or 6 of them, and they merely screw into the fron engine plate. That plate's around 1/4" thick - and the screws are also about that thick. My theory: there's not many hex-head bolts available in a .25 inch length. Like I said - the is mere speculation. But recall: these cars were made with mostly off the shelf parts. Maybe they had a lot of 1/4 " pan head screws from the Fergueson days... rml TR6's |
