Folks, there recently was a thread on the appearance of timing chain covers
for the TR2 through TR4A engines.
The latest Moss catalogue has a note which says that the timing cover had
what looks like "leftovers of the last batch of body filler stuck stuck on
the outside." (The note says further that many "concours folks" have spent
hours removing the filler.) The body filler was applied at the factory. Its
purpose was "sound deadening." Moss advises against removing it. Cheers.
