I've just had my Dolomite 1850 fail its MoT test on emissions - doubly
irritating 'cuz it's date of manufacture is a mere five days after the
deadline for emissions testing in Mot's :)
My question is this - I know full well the car's running far too rich a
mixture, so that needs sorting out - but what else could cause high emissions
(>1200ppb HC's) in a Dolomite?
I've changed plugs and points as a matter of course, and the head's recently
been cleaned up and checked, along with new gaskets all round. Aside from the
carb setup, is there anything glaringly obvious I've missed? ;)
Additionally, if anyone knows any good web-based references about how to
balance SU carbs properly, I'd be very grateful - as I'm Haynes-manual-less ;)
