I posted a question the other day asking fellow listers what, if anything I
could do about my Spitfire "bottoming out" and scraping the Monza exhaust
glasspack on the road during spirited driving whenever I hit a slight dip on
the straightaways...

This afternoon after taking a quick ride in this magnificent weather, I took
a glance at my right front tire. I only had them filled with air just two
months ago with brand new tubes, so I never even thought to check them this
soon. Well, 15 pounds of pressure in the tire! I went around the car,
filling each one up to the suggested 36 pound maximum and took the car for
another spin around the block. Not only is the scraping gone (duh!), I
almost felt like I had power steering! The ride quality and handling both
were dramatically improved. Just a reminder not to overlook the obvious
things -- sometimes they can make a HUGE difference in comfort, handling and
safety.

Best wishes,

Jeff in San Diego
