Mark,
I hope that you have success with UPS. The first A Type O/D that I purchased
in 1967 was cracked where your unit failed, so I know the problem.

If you get a new piece, I hope that you know how to change it, as there is a
very strong spring(s) behind it, and the operating valve will need to be
reset.
I have built and rebuilt many of these units, and live not too far away in
Daly City.

Subject: "A" type overdrive

Does anyone out there have a gunnysacked "A" type overdrive they'll sell a
piece off of? I had a transmission shipped from the east coast to CA and the
solenoid mounting flange was broken off during shipping. UPS strikes again! I
need the cover plate on the side of the transmission where the actuating
lever for the solenoid comes out of the case. The solenoid mounting flange is
part of this plate which bolts to the side of the overdrive unit. It is on
the left side of the overdrive unit when viewed from the rear. Also, if
anyone has a spare shifter extension, shifting linkages and forks (the top
part of a TR-3 transmission), I could use one of those as well. Please
help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
