Repairing the gas tank was one of the first things I did while taking Rusty
apart. My tank had pin holes in the bottom. I used the three-part tank kit
from Moss to clean it out and slush it, and a gas tank repair kit from pep
Boys to fiberglas over the holes on the bottom. Total cost was about $60, as
I recall, and it holds liquid well. I won't know for another few years
whether or not the fix is permanent, however. It will take me that long to
get Rusty put back together.
